Top 5 Places to Visit in Vietnam - Must Travel Locations
#1. Ha Giang Loop
By far, the best thing you can do in Vietnam is the Ha Giang Loop. This multi-day scootering excursion ranks among the best things I have ever done in my life. The loop consists of riding through the stunning valleys and mountains of Northern Vietnam during the day and staying in homestays of the local villages at night. You get the opportunity to connect with many locals and travelers, and the views you will see will be some of the best you will ever witness. Truly an unmissable adventure.
#2. Da Nang
The second best place to visit is Da Nang: a large city in central Vietnam. Sitting directly on the Pacific Ocean, Da Nang has a carnival, lively markets, beaches, and temples built inside caves. One of the cooler aspects of Da Nang is the nature aspect implemented by the locals with buildings covered in flowers and greenery. And not to forget about the many delicious restaurants scattering the city.

#3. Hanoi
Hanoi is another unmissable place in Vietnam. The absolutely crazy city is dense in culture, history, and people. Whether you want to party or relax in a 5 star hotel, Hanoi has you covered. The best thing about Hanoi, in my opinion, is the chaotic aspect as scooters, pedestrians, and cars jam-pack the streets. Make sure to check out one of the many museums to get a feel for the deep and dark history of Hanoi and Vietnam.
#4. Hoi An
Only a 45 minute drive from Da Nang, Hoi An is a smaller city with a deeper rooted cultural aspect. Many people prefer Hoi An over Da Nang due to the large white sand beaches and a more lively night scene. Hoi An is known for its inexpensive Tailors, as these shops scatter every street. If you need a suit or dress, this is the best place in the world to go.
#5. Da Lat
The last unmissable place in Vietnam is Da Lat, located on the southern half of Vietnam. This quiet city is known for the many unbelievable waterfalls that surround it. Many excursions can be done to explore these natural wonders in addition to white water rafting, rope courses, and many other extreme adventures. The city also offers the Crazy House, beautiful temples, a large flower garden, and unique cuisine. You cannot miss Da Lat.
